Long Branch Police Arrest Bank Robbery Suspect

The man is suspected of robbing the Broadway Sovereign Bank in March.

An Long Branch bank robbery suspect was arrested on Sept. 18, according to the Long Branch Police Department's Facebook page.

Manuel Soto-Gonzalez, 39, of Long Branch, was charged with robbing the Sovereign Bank at 600 Broadway on March 4.

Soto-Gonzalez allegedly ordered the bank teller to fill a plastic bag with $700 and fled on foot. 

He was brought in for questioning on Wednesday night by Long Branch Police Det. Michael Verdaderio and Det. Edwin Hennelly of the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office following information received from the Combined DNS Index System (CODIS). 

Soto-Gonzalez was sent to Monmouth County Jail in Freehold and his bail was set at $125,000.00 with no 10 percent option.
