The Long Branch Council will be getting back to business on Tuesday night during its first meeting of 2014.

The meeting will begin with a 6 p.m. workshop followed by a 7:30 regular meeting, both on the second floor of Long Branch City Hall.

The council will receive and update on the Army Corps of Engineers' sand replenishment project that is currently underway in Long Branch.

A  hearing will also be held, as members of the Whale Pond Brook Watershed Association will discuss the possibility of the city providing matching funds for a grant application that would help the group preserve the Ross Island stone hut in Lake Takanassee.
