Long Branch Beachfront Condo Proposal Postponed

The developer is going to make additional changes to the plan.

By Christopher Sheldon

A proposal to build 11 condominiums in the Beachfront North redevelopment zone has been postponed by the developer TDB Associates.

The plan was scheduled to be presented to the Long Branch Planning Board on Oct. 15, but has been carried to Dec. 17 at 7:30 p.m.

Board Attorney Martin Arbus said the developer wanted to make changes to their plan and asked to have the presentation carried to another date.

The residents of a nearby condominium complex, Seaview Park Condominiums, have also sued the city in an attempt to not have the matter heard by the planning board. The lawsuit states that the city made a mistake when it entered into a developer's agreement with TDB Associates in September.

Superior Court Judge Lawrence M. Lawson is expected to make a decision on the matter this week.

The proposed condos would be located between Marine Terrace and Ocean Avenue.
