Politics & Government

I Live in Monmouth County. What District Am I In?

Monmouth County spans four voting districts. Find out where your town falls.

If you think you know who your state representatives are, you may be suprised when you get to the polls this month. That's because the boundaries of these districts were redrawn this year based on the federal government's census last year. A number of citizens will find that, when these new boundaries go into effect on Nov. 8, their towns belong to a new district.

The new districts are important to note when you go to cast your vote for the people who will represent you at the state level. The New Jersey Legislature (that's our state senators and assembly representatives) is made up fo 40 voting districts. These districts each elect one senator and two assemblymen to the joint legislature. Here is the layout of the new districts, which cover Monmouth County.

A complete list of all districts in New Jersey is available here.
