Grab Your Coffee Cups: Tinton Falls Borough Council has Full Agenda for Tuesday Meeting

The combination regular and workshop meeting includes a final public hearing for 2011 municipal budget, ordinances and resolutions galore and discussion of a possible open space tax and a renewable energy program.

Fill up your coffee cups it you're headed to tonight's borough council meeting in Tinton Falls, because there is a full agenda on deck for this combination regular and workshop meeting that begins at 7:30 p.m.

Tabled from the May 17 meeting the council will hold a final public hearing on the and conceivably adopt it this evening.

A number of ordinances are up for final consideration for adoption as well, including:

  • Adoption of revised
  • Adoption of bond ordinance providing an appropriation of $2.1 million for 2010 Road Improvement Program;
  • Amending ordinance concerning government regulation of political contributions made by professional service contractors and redevelopers;
  • Amending planning board's application form.

Multiple resolutions are also on the agenda, inculding:

  • Supporting the Child Safe Playing Fields Act;
  • Reaffirming Support of Memorandum of Agreement with County of Monmouth and Hose Communities Regarding the Disposition of Surplus Fort Property for use as Public Park Land or Recreation Areas;
  • Renewal of Certain Club Liquor Licenses for the Year 2011/2012;
  • Need of Acknowledging Proposed Age Restricted and Supportive Development;
  • Execution of a Payment in Lieu of Taxes ("Pilot") Agreement between Meadowbrook II Partners, LP and Borough of Tinton Falls;
  • Acceptance of Various Easements as Further Set Forth Herein in Conjunction with Preliminary/Final Site Plan and Minor Subdivision Approval Granted by the Tinton Falls Planning Board to ZZH Real Estate Holdings, LLC;
  • Appointing Member to Open Space Committee.

In the workshop portion of tonight's meeting, three items are up for discussion:

  • Evaluation of the current one way road restriction on Triple Crown Trail in the Willowbrook development for possible conversion to a two way street;
  • Discussion of the Open Space tax levy and sentiment for reducing that tax by placing a Referendum Question on the ballot for the voters to decide with this November's election;
  • MCIA Renewable Energy Program.
