Exit 105 and Environmental Report on Agenda for Wednesday FMERA Meeting

The Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority meeting was moved up to Wednesday June 15 at 7 p.m.

The monthly meeting of the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority meeting will be Wednesday June 15 at 7 p.m. at the Eatontown Municipal Building, 47 Broad St.

Here's what you can expect:

  • The chief engineer for the Turnpike Authority will give a presentation about the planned improvements for Garden State Parkway Exit 105. FMERA officials say the project will open up access to the western portion of Fort Monmouth.
  • FMERA will present results of a study called FOST -- Feasibility of Sustainability for Transfer -- which is required before any Army property can be transfered to another authority.
  • Matrix Design Group will present an environmental update. The group, along withthe NJDEP, is cataloging the contamination at the site.
  • Action could be taken to move the time of scheduled FMERA meetings. At the last FMERA meeting, state officials sought to move the meetings to an earlier time. Local officials weren't keen on the idea since it could exclude interested residents who commute to and from the city.
