The Affordable Housing Alliance, located in Eatontown, will be receiving a $20,750 grant for its affordable housing services, U.S. Senator Robert Menendez announced today.

The grant is part of a $700,000 package of grants from U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Housing Counseling Program, Menendez said.

The grants will be used to help provide services for homebuyers, homeowners, low-to-moderate income renters, the homeless and the elderly.

The Affordable Housing Alliance is a 501(C)3 non-profit certified housing counseling agency that develops affordable housing and provides related housing services such as new home buyer education, financial literacy education, foreclosure counseling, housing rehabilitation, utility assistance and the construction and management of rental units and for-sale affordable homes, according to the group's web site.  The Affordable Housing Alliance is an Administrative Agent for the Council on Affordable Housing (COAH).

“This funding will help put more New Jersey families on a path to affordable housing and homeownership, and help more seniors stay in their own homes by using the equity they have built," Menendez said in a release.
