CommVault Construction at Fort Monmouth Progressing

First building expected to open in 2014

The construction of Fort Monmouth's first major building project is underway in Tinton Falls.

Crews are currently building the first 275,000-square-foot structure for CommVault, a data protection firm located at 2 Crescent Place in Oceanport that will be moving to parcel E at Fort Monmouth property in Tinton Falls.

The move was made official in January after the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA) and CommVault signed off on the deal.

Torcon, the construction management firm overseeing the project, has already started demolition of the existing structures, which will make way for the first phase of the project planned to eventually encompass 650,000 square feet of high-tech office space.

CommVault has said it will eventually add 2,000 employees at the new site in addition to its current 500 in its current headquarters in Oceanport. The company is bound by an agreement with FMERA to generate up to 225 of those jobs within three years of moving in. If it doesn't, it will face penalties of $3,000 per job not created.
