City Hosting Hurricane Sandy Recovery Workshop For Residents

Workshop set for Saturday, Feb. 16 at Long Branch Fire Headquarters

The city is hosting a recovery workshop and information session for Long Branch residents who are still recovering from Hurricane Sandy.

The workshop and information session will be held on Saturday, Feb. 16 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Long Branch Fire Headquarters located at 205 Union Ave.

A message from the city states that, "Space and time is limited so anyone planning on attending must register by by contacting the City's Administration Office at 732-571-5640.

City officials will be on hand to explain rebuilding options and discuss newly-adopted advisory base flood elevation maps, the Increased Cost of Compliance (ICC) program, Hazard Mitigation Grant Program, tax and zoning.

The fire headquarters are also the home to FEMA's disaster recovery center, so FEMA officials will also be available. They will be able to answer questions on the FEMA claims process and Small Business Administration (SBA) programs.

The city's construction official, flood mitigation officer, emergency management officials, zoning officer, tax assessor and public works department will be in attendance.
