Christie Administration Conducting Internal Review Into 'Bridgegate' Scandal

Heading up the Gibson, Dunn and Crutcher group is former federal prosecutor Randy Mastro, a former assistant U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York.

The Christie administration will conduct an internal review into the "Bridgegate" scandal, and has retained a former federal prosecutor to head up the investigation and cooperate with a federal inquiry into the matter.

The administration announced Thursday the retention of Gibson, Dunn and Crutcher to "further cooperate with the U.S. Attorney inquiry," review best practices and "assist with document retention and production," according to the announcement.

“Governor Christie made clear last week that he will conduct an internal review to uncover the facts surrounding the lane closures in Fort Lee," according to a quote in the announcement that was unattributed.

Gibson, Dunn and Crutcher will "bring an outside, third-party perspective to the situation, and they will be a valuable asset as we move forward," according to the quote. "This administration is committed to ensuring that what happened here never happens again. That’s what the people of New Jersey deserve.”

Heading up the Gibson, Dunn and Crutcher group is former federal prosecutor Randy Mastro, a former assistant U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York.

He specialized in organized crime cases and spearheaded the federal government’s racketeering suit that compelled the International Brotherhood of Teamsters to hold democratic elections and to undergo court supervision, according to the announcement. Mastro also served as former deputy mayor of New York City.

Jimmy, Just one question. Why did Christie not ask the only question an innocent person would have asked Kelly? Why did you do it? He never asked that question because he knew the answer and wanted plausible deniability. He could therefore under oath say he had no idea why she would do something like that.

Today the Record reports that Mastro is already helping Christie stonewall inquiries into the last round of bridge and tunnel toll hikes. Sure he wants to"cooperate." http://www.northjersey.com/news/state/Christies_GWB_counsel_fights_to_shield_toll_files.html

What a lame response to Laura, Jimmy. Christie was her boss --not her attorney. What the heck is your point, other than you just can't bring yourself to say you don't have an answer.

Perhaps they should call on John Dean of Nixon's Watergate to head that internal investigation -- worked well for Dean :>)
