While most of Long Branch's beaches will be replenished in the coming months, the Army Corps of Engineers is already planning the next beach replenishment project for the city.
Gov. Chris Christie and the Army announced on Thursday that they are looking to begin a beach replenishment project from the Elberon section of Long Branch to Loch Arbour in 2014.
The beaches in many of these towns are privately owned so the Army is still seeking easements so the work can begin on schedule.
The Army is targeting to have a project agreement in May and to begin the work in August.
Essentially, the work would cover all the beaches from Lake Takanassee to Deal Lake. The beaches is this area has never been replenished.
Long Branch's current beach replenishment project is expected to begin soon and should be completed by the spring.
