A 'Night of Champions' at Eatontown Borough Hall

Gymnasts, mock trial team honored by borough

 

Eatontown Mayor Gerald Tarantolo dubbed it a "Night of Champions" at borough hall as the council honored two groups who have made significant accomplishments in recent weeks.

The Eatontown Council awarded certificates of recognition to the Monmouth Regional High School Mock Trial Team and Aerials Gymanstics of Eatontown for winning championships on the county and state level.

The mock trial team is made up of 10 Monmouth Regional students who recently won the county mock trial championship.

The students had to memorize case law and rules and put their skills to test to achieve the honor, according to their instructor.

Aerials, a gymnastics school in Eatontown, were honored as state gymnastics champions.

The large group of girls was honored by the council for taking home the title for third consecutive year.

Mayor Tarantolo said he was amazed to see so much talent in one room.

"I love to see young people achieve," Mayor Tarantolo said.
