Man Indicted on Identity Theft Charges

Indictments issued by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office pertaining to Eatontown and Tinton Falls from Feb. 14-17.

  • A West Long Branch man who allegedly presented false identification at Citibank in Eatontown has been indicted on four counts related to identity theft and credit card fraud. According to an indictment handed up by a Monmouth County grand jury on Feb. 16, Pal J. Markus, 66, allegedly presented a fake identification, tried to use a Citibank Mastercard, and forged documents in an effort to secure in excess of $500 on Oct. 29, 2011. The charges against Markus include: uttering a simulated document, uttering a forged instrument, theft of identity and fraudulent use of credit card.
  • Anthony Bowers, 21, of Old Bridge was indicted by a Monmouth County grand jury on Feb. 16 on a second-degree charge of eluding. Bowers allegedly failed to stop his vehicle in Tinton Falls after Sherriff's Officer Scott Robinson signaled him to stop on Nov. 23, 2011.
