West Long Branch Police Warn Residents of Weekend Traffic Concerns

Event at Monmouth University, Monmouth Park parking concerns will cause traffic Saturday

The West Long Branch Police say two weekend events will cause an increase in traffic in the area

From the West Long Branch Police Facebook page:

Monmouth University's Homecoming is Saturday and will likely contribute to significant traffic on State Highway 36, Monmouth Road and Cedar Avenue between the hours of 11 a.m.and 5 p.m on Saturday, Oct. 20. West Long Branch Police Department officers will be posted along that route to assist with traffic control (as per the Traffic and Parking Plan for Monmouth University events).

Also Saturday will be the "Tough Mudder" event. While the event itself will take place at Raceway Park, participants in the event will be parking at Monmouth Park in Oceanport and bussed to the event. This will also increase traffic on Highway 36. While officers will also be posted to work along that route, local residents should keep this in mind when navigating in and out of the area during that time.

Officers will be deployed throughout Oceanport, West Long Branch and Eatontown to address traffic and other concerns from before dawn to approximately 8 p.m.
