West Long Branch Homeowners Robbed At Gunpoint By Masked Suspects

Incident occurred early Tuesday morning in Avalon Bay Housing Complex

 

Four residents of a home in the Avalon Bay housing complex in West Long Branch were robbed at gunpoint early Tuesday morning by four men wearing masks.

West Long Branch Police Captain Lawrence Mihlon said police responded to a report of an armed robbery/home invasion at 1:30 a.m. this morning at the complex located on Monmouth Road.

"According to the victims, four black males armed with various types of handguns forced their way into the residence and demanded property and cash," Capt. Mihlon said.

All four victims were held at gunpoint while the suspects stole various items and an undetermined amount of cash, Capt. Mihlon said.

None of the victims were injured during the robbery.

The four suspects were described as black males matching the following description

• 6’2” – 6’3”, braided hair, wearing a “snow cap” and armed with a revolver.

• 5’8”, thin build, shaved head and armed with what appeared to be a semi-automatic handgun.

• Only described as short and with a heavy build.

• Only described wearing a ski mask.

Capt. Mihlon said the suspects possibly fled in a dark colored Honda Accord with a loud muffler.

West Long Branch Police Det. Michael Paolantonio was called to the scene to investigate along with Sgt. Brian Kramer and Ptl. Nick Ferrugiaro.
