UPDATE: Conditions in Eatontown Sunday Morning

Borough OEM report downed trees, some flooding and no major emergencies reported.

The office of emergency management is reporting some flooding and downed trees Sunday morning and the following conditions in Eatontown:

Road Conditions: As of 8:15 a.m., Clinton Avenue is closed due to flooding, according to OEM coordinator Billy Mego. A portion of Wyckoff Road was closed during the early morning hours due to a fallen tree but the road is now passable. There is flooding in some low lying portions of the borough but that is "starting to recede a little bit."

Power: JCP&L is reporting 2,048 without power as of 6:27 a.m. According to Mego, most residents without power are on the east side of town. Power loss is centered aroud the Broad Street, Monmouth Park area, he said. Eatontown's borough hall and neighboring firehouse lost power and have been running on a back up generator, said Mego.

Shelters: About 13 residents of the Pine Tree Mobile Village took advantage of the staging shelter set up at the Memorial Middle School, said Mego, and were bused to Neptune High School to wait out the storm.

Emergency Calls: Mego said that no major structural fires were reported throughout the storm and the borough's emeregency medical service workers did not answer any significant calls.

Weather conditions: Mego compared the storm's damage to a "strong Nor'easter," with some flooding, downed trees and power loss. There were "no mass catastrophes," said Mego.
