Two Arrested after Trying to Fool Eatontown Police

One suspect allegedly hid from police after providing false identification.

After allegedly trying to hide their identity from police last week, two borough residents have been arrested and one remains behind bars, awaiting bail.

Stephanie Small, 22, of South Street was arrested on March 2 for providing false information to a law enforcement officer, Patrol Officer Jorge Gonzalez, after a motor vehicle stop on Feb. 19. Police did not discover that Small allegedly used another person's name until March 2.

While attempting to serve Small with her complaint at her residence on March 2, a friend of the accused, Joseph Granza, 43, also of South Street, allegedly provided false information to officers in an attempt to hinder Small’s apprehension. Small was subsequently found hiding in her residence and both she and Granza were arrested and charged. Granza was given a summons and released.  Small was charged and had bail set at $11,000.  She was processed and transported to Monmouth County Correctional Institution in lieu of bail.
