Tinton Falls Holding 'Active Shooter' Drill at Monmouth Regional

The drill will be used to evaluate emergency response procedures.

The Tinton Falls Police Department and Office of Emergency Management will be trying a new emergency response drill at Monmouth Regional High School next week.

An active shooter drill will be held at the school on Monday, June 10 at 9 a.m. to simulate how the school staff and borough police would respond in the event of a shooting at the school.

The student body, teachers, and administrators will be participating on a voluntary basis for the training scenario. Residents will also be notified of the drill.

"We hope a situation like this never occurs in real life at our schools, however it's best to be proactive and prepared," Tinton Falls Mayor Michael Skudera said. "This drill will provide an opportunity to all the agencies involved to evaluate their emergency response procedures and make improvements where necessary."

Emergency Responders from Tinton Falls, Eatontown, the New Jersey State Police, the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Department, and others will be participating.
