Police: Tinton Falls CVS Theft Leads To Chase

The Asbury Park resident allegedly stole nearly $500 in merchandise from the CVS.

By Christopher Sheldon

An Asbury Park man allegedly shoplifted merchandise from a Tinton Falls CVS and attempted to elude police when they stopped him to question him about the theft.

Kason Morris, 40, is accused of shoplifting between $200 and $500 worth of items from the CVS at 4000 Asbury Avenue on Thursday, according to court documents.

Tinton Falls Police Officer David Ebert attempted to pull Morris' car over after he left the CVS by flashing his police lights, but Morris "accelerated away" and attempted to elude him.

Morris was eventually arrested and charged with eluding and shoplifting and was lodged in Monmouth County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail with no 10 percent option. He is scheduled to appear in Monmouth County Court on Aug. 27.
