Three Brick residents were arrested by the Eatontown Police for allegedly shoplifting over $1,500 from several stores in the Monmouth Mall.

Shamera Whitfield, 21, Rashauna Whitfield, 31, and Shamecca Whitfield, 27, were arrested on Friday, Jan. 17 at 11:45 a.m. after an investigation at the mall revealed they had allegedly stolen from stores including H&M, the Disney Store and Aeropostale, according to Eatontown Police Det. Lawrence Tyler.

"Upon initially speaking with the three individuals Shamera and Shamecca both gave false information to the officers investigating the incident in an attempt to hide their identities and avoid arrest on outstanding warrants that they both had out from other jurisdictions," Tyler said.

All three were transported to Monmouth County Correctional Institution in lieu of bail. Shamecca and Shamera were held in lieu of $12,500 bail with no ten percent option and Rashauna was held in lieu of $10,000 with a ten percent option.
