Three Teens Arrested by Tinton Falls Police for Driving in Stolen Car

Two Neptune men and Asbury Park resident arrested

Three men have been arrested by the Tinton Falls Police for driving in a stolen car on Tuesday.

Tinton Falls Police Ptl. Jim Sapia said he performed a "random motor vehicle inquiry" on a 1991 Honda Accord driving on Route 66 in Tinton Falls and found that the vehicle was stolen out of Neptune.

Ptl. Sapia said the car then exited onto the Garden State Parkway South and that he continued to follow it. The car then left the Parkway via exit 89 toward Lakewood and Brick and Ptl. Sapia followed as he was told that Lakewood Police Cpl. John Tallarico was behind him.

He then activated his lights and sirens and pulled the vehicle over.

Ptl. Sapia said he was able to arrest the three suspects, Armond Conover, 18, of Asbury Park and Tykee Mitchell and Stanin Morgan, both 18 of Neptune, without incident. Conover was driving the Accord, Mitchell was in the passenger seat and Morgan was in the backseat.

Mitchell and Morgan were released on a summons and Conover was transported to Monmouth County Correctional Institute after failing to post $2,500 bail.

Thank you Tinton Falls PD for keeping these thieves off our roads. I am glad to see the latest equipment is being put into good use. Why do these Asbury Park and Neptune people insist on doing their dirty deeds in Tinton Falls. Do they not realize that they are going to get busted in our town? Keep up the good work guys so we don't have to make Tinton Falls a "Gated town".
