Eatontown Borough officials say they’ll investigate reports that emergency doors to the AMC Loews Theater would not open after a fire alarm sounded late Saturday night, terrifying moviegoers who thought they were trapped in a critical situation.

Eatontown Police said Sunday the alarm was a “false activation,” according to a report in the Asbury Park Press.
