Long Branch Double Homicide Victims Had 'Romantic Relationship'

Prosecutor says cause of death is still under investigation

The names of two people found dead in their Long Branch apartment at 418 Sairs Ave. have been released by the Monmouth County Prosecutor.

The Long Branch Police discovered Maria Yolanda Cotejo-Munoz, 35, of 678 Joline Avneue and Feredis Venturo, 33, of 418 Sairs Avenue at 4 p.m. on Monday, according to Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni.

Gramiccioni could not comment on the cause of their deaths, but said it is being investigated as a double homicide and was not a murder-suicide.

Gramiccioni said the two victims had a "romantic relationship," but did not specify what the status of their relationship was at the time of their deaths.

Cotejo-Munoz was reported missing on Sunday, March 24, and a missing persons report was filed. The Long Branch Police learned of her relationship with Venturo, causing them to investigate the Sairs Avenue apartment where the bodies were found.
