"[The woman] brought her daughter into the gym and forgot that she had her son in the vehicle," Tyler said. "She left her son in the vehicle with the engine off."

Tyler said the woman's daughter questioned her as to where her brother was and then she returned to the vehicle to find her son still in the car.

"[The woman's] son did not appear to be in any distress and she refused medical treatment from the first aid squad," Tyler said. "[She] stated that she would follow up with her own physician."

Quackenbush notified the Division of Child Protection and Permanency, formerly DYFS, about the incident and a case worker stated that they will be following up with the Tinton Falls woman on Thursday, Tyler said.

The woman is not currently facing any criminal charges.
