Police Searching for Suspect in Stabbing at Mansion Nightclub

Male suffered puncture wounds to abdomen.

A person was treated and released from Ocean Medical Center early this morning following an alleged stabbing at the Mansion Nightclub, Brick police said.

The alleged attacker, who escaped, is described as a heavy set, Hispanic male with long hair, according to Brick Police Sergeant Ed Waldhelm.

The incident occurred inside the nightclub, which is located in the Brick Plaza shopping center, at approximately 2 a.m., police said.

The victim suffered non-life threatening puncture wounds to the abdomen, said Waldhelm.

Brick Police Detective Thomas Cooney is the investigating officer.

How many incidents occur there? I haven't read about many at all in the Patch to the best of my knowledge, since Dan started reporting on local news.... Would you rather another CVS, Rite-Aid or Walgreens...ughhh

How soon can we expect the National Cutlery Association to call for knife wielding guards in all nightclubs?

According to some... That is happening in a lot of the bars/places in the beach boardwalk towns...They say "NO" who would want their bars and clubs to close down when they are making so much money. A lot is hidden and the reason why the world has so many problems.

To the best of my knowledge this is the first incident we've reported on there. The last incident that made the news, if I recall, was a shooting which took place a few years before Patch started. Despite being a big fan of the local nightlife scene (as I've written about in the occasional column here) I've never gone to the Mansion, so I can't comment on the atmosphere/crowd, or if there is any trouble on a regular basis.
