Police: Long Branch Man Stabbed During Drunken Altercation

A 54-year-old man was arrested in connection with the stabbing on Wednesday.

A man who allegedly stabbed a city resident during a drunken altercation in Long Branch has been arrested by the Long Branch Police.

Director of Public Safety Jason Roebuck said Ricardo Laracuente, 54, whose last known address was Ocean Township, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Roebuck said the man was stabbed in the arm early Wednesday morning in Lowden Gardens, an apartment complex located on Bath Avenue.

The man, whose name was not released by police, was taken to Monmouth Medical Center for treatment. 

Laracuente was also charged with two counts of contempt of court for failure to pay child support.

He was transported to Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold, bu his bail information was not immediately available, Roebuck said.
