Man also allegedly fled from police

A Long Branch man has been charged with allegedly stealing from a parked car in Monmouth Beach on Friday.

Daniel Johnson, 20, of Cindy Way, allegedly entered an unoccupied Mercedes Benz parked on Seaview Avenue in Monmouth Beach and took "several dollars in change," according to court documents.

Johnson also allegedly attempted to enter other vehicles parked in the Wharfside Manor Condominiums complex in Monmouth Beach. Police say Johnson wiped away condensation from several of the vehicles' windows and "attempted to operate the door handles to gain entry to the vehicles."
