Long Branch Man Arrested With Heroin, Cocaine During Car Stop Near Eatontown School

Vincent Richards faces multiple charges after being caught drugs within 1,000 feet of Memorial Middle School.

A Long Branch man was found with a large stash of drugs during a car stop Memorial Middle School, according to the Eatontown Police Department.

Vincent Richards, 44, of Dunbar Avenue had 50 packets of heroin, cocaine, 10 Clonopin tablets, 56 Xanax tablets, five oxycodone tablets when he was arrested, according to court records.

Richards is facing additional charges for possessing the drugs within 1,000 feet of Memorial Middle School at 7 Grant Ave. Eatontown Police Det. Lawrence Tyler said the large quantity of drugs Richards had allowed police to charge him with possession with intention to distribute.

He was also charged with possessing brass knuckles and drug paraphernalia--specifically, a scale.

Other charges state Richards did not obtain the Xanax and oxycodone through a valid prescription.

Richards is being held at Monmouth County jail in lieu of $100,000 bail. His first court appearance is scheduled for June 20.
