Police Investigating Incident Where Man Pushed Woman Onto Railroad Tracks

Incident occurred late Wednesday night at Long Branch Train Station

 

The NJ Transit Police and Long Branch Police are investigating an incident where a man pushed a woman onto the railroad tracks at the Long Branch Train Station late Wednesday night.

NJ Transit Spokesperson John Durso Jr. said police have identified a suspect, but that no arrests have been made at this time.

Durso said the incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday night, and police discovered that a male subject had pushed a woman onto the tracks from the train platform.

The woman was taken to Monmouth Medical Center where she was treated and released for "non-life threatening injuries," according to Durso.

Durso said the male subject fled the scene and dropped a backpack that contained gun parts and ammunition.

Durso said the incident is still under investigation by the Long Branch Police and NJ Transit Police.
