Police Charge Long Branch Woman With Illegal Possession of Prescription Drugs

The Long Branch woman allegedly had muscle relaxers in an unmarked pill bottle.

 

A Long Branch woman was arrested by Oceanport Police and charged with illegal possession of prescription drugs and marijuana, according to court documents.

Barbara A. Stevens, 53, 376 West End Ave., was arrested on Feb. 13 after she was allegedly found with muscle relaxers in an unmarked pill bottle. Stevens also allegedly had a sandwich bag containing marijuana along with the remains of a marijuana cigarette hidden in her sock.

The defendant allegedly refused to turn over the items, including drug paraphernalia, to officers and was received a disorderly persons offense.

She was held on $2,500 bail and is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 27.
