The Long Branch Police have arrested a city man accused of robbing Bank of America on July 12.

Michael Marszalek, 55, of University Drive, was charged with bank robbery after taking $1,080 from the bank, which is located on Broadway.

Long Branch Director of Public Safety Jason Roebuck said Marszalek went to the bank at 12:24 p.m. and gave the teller a note stating that he had a gun and told her to give him money.

Roebuck said Marszalek left the area on bicycle after the robbery.

Minutes later, he was stopped on Dudley Street after his description was given to police.

After viewing the bank's security footage, Marszalek was charged with robbing the bank, Roebuck said.

He was sent to Monmouth County jail and his bail was set at $100,000 by Monmouth County Superior Court Judge Ronald Reisner.
