UPDATE: Power Restored in Long Branch, Gas Station Roof Collapses in Eatontown

Eatontown one of towns hit hardest by Saturday's storms

 

Power has been restored in Long Branch after Saturday's storm left over 500 Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) customers without electricity on Sunday.

JCP&L reported 577 outages in Long Branch Sunday morning, but as of 5:30 p.m., all but have had their power restored.

The outages were not as prevalent in Eatontown, but the storm did do some damage.

Eatontown Police Det. Lawrence Tyler said a part of the roof of the Exxon gas station at the corner of Route 35 and Wycoff Road collapsed on Saturday night. It is unknown if the collapse caused any car damage or injuries at this time.

There are also reports of a downed trees in Eatontown on Saturday night, one of which fell on mobile home near Monroe Street around 11 p.m.
