Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) is reporting that power has been restored to over 1,500 customers in Long Branch.

Residents were without power for several hours because of today's severe weather.

The Long Branch Police reported that some traffic lights on Joline Avenue, Avenel Boulevard. and Ocean Boulevard were out as a result.

Lights at two of the city's intersections, Broadway/Ocean Avenue and Second Avenue/Chelsea Avenue were also out for a few hours.

Really JCP&L? A small storm with not very strong winds and power is out? What a joke. What is the problem with them?

I'd like to know what caused the 3 hour (Prime time) power outage on Patten Ave on January 4th.. A few months ago we had a similar power outage that no one can explain other than it could have been related to a dryer fire at someone's condo.. Unreal!
