Local Events Planned to Commemorate 9-11 Anniversary

A listing of the variety of talks and services commemorating the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

There will be a number of opportunities for the public to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks in the area in the next few days.

Friday, Sept. 9

will pay pay tribute to local first responders from the police and fire departments who will be in attendance, and make a donation to the Middletown World Trade Center Memorial Gardens on behalf of the school community from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Senator Joseph M. Kyrillos, Jr., Tinton Falls Fire Commissioner Gerry MacPherson, Tinton Falls Police Chief John A. Scrivanic, as well as all chiefs, firefighters and members of the local police force are expected to attend.

Saturday, Sept. 10

EMS, Fire and Police Departments from around Monmouth County are expected to be in attendance. Additionally, the is pleased to announce that from the Asbury Park Fire Department will be the keynote speaker for the dedication event.

Other guests include Senator Jennifer Beck and borough and county officials. Members of the community are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Sunday, Sept. 11

will host its annual 9/11 memorial from 11 a.m. to noon to remember and honor those who were lost in NYC, PA, and DC that fateful day. The fire company, located at 695 Tinton Ave., will also dedicate its that uses steel beams from the fallen towers. The community is encouraged to attend the event.
