No Injuries Reported in Cedar Avenue House Fire

Fire is under investigation by Monmouth County Fire Marshal's Office

No injuries were reported in a fire that destroyed a Cedar Avenue home late Sunday night in West Long Branch.

The owners of the home at 558 Cedar Avenue were able to escape before police and firefighters arrived on the scene and no injuries were reported, according to West Long Branch Police Capt. Lawrence Mihlon.

The fire was reported at 6:50 p.m., and upon their arrival, police officers found the residence fully on fire, according to Capt. Mihlon.

The West Long Branch Fire Department and First Aid Squad responded and were  assisted by Long Branch Fire Department, Monmouth Beach Fire Department, Oakhurst Fire Department, Elberon First Aid Squad and the West Long Branch Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary. 

Traffic on Cedar Avenue was diverted for several hours while the fire departments battled the fire, according to Capt. Mihlon.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Monmouth County Fire Marshal’s Office.
