New West Long Branch Police Chief to be Sworn in Next Week

Retirement party set for Feb. 8 for outgoing chief

The torch will be passed from current West Long Branch Police Chief Arthur Cosentino to Capt. Lawrence Mihlon next week in the borough.

Mihlon will be sworn is as the borough's new chief at 8 p.m. during the West Long Branch Council meeting. His replacement, Lt. Paul Habermann, will also be sworn in as the department's new captain.

Cosentino, a borough resident, has served on the West Long Branch Police Department for 37 years.

His careeer will be celbrated during a retirement party on Friday, Feb. 8, at Branches Catering, 123 Monmouth Road, West Long Branch. The retirement event will take place from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Tickets are $65 per person and can be obtained through Sgt. Jim Gomez or Lt. Paul Habermann at 732-229-5000. Checks should be made payable to PBA Local 141.
