Pisarcik was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, where he was pronounced dead at 12:09 p.m. May 24, 2011.

Rodriguez was highly intoxicated during the collision, as blood tests revealed a blood alcohol content of .236, nearly three times the legal limit of .08.

The Neptune woman will have to serve at least 85 percent of her seven-year sentence before she is eligible for parole, under a plea agreement negotiated with the support of Pisarcik's family, the release states. The Prosecutor's Office credited the Neptune Police Department, the county's Serious Collision Analysis Response Team and the office's Major Crimes Bureau for collaborating on the investigation that led to charges against Rodriguez.
