More Suspects Arrested From Monmouth Mall Robbery

Police say they believe they now have all suspects from robbery in custody

 

The Eatontown Police say they now believe they have arrested all the suspects from .

Three black males in a male driven by Gerry Caridad, 19, who was arrested on Monday, robbed a woman of her cell phone before dragging her alongside the vehicle as she attempted to retrieve it. The three men then sped off and were chased by police before crashing into a home in Ocean Township.

Police arrested Caridad as he attempted to flee and now arrested the other two suspects on June 26 and June 27.

An investigation by Detective Sgt. Theresa Healy led to the arrest of Garrett Abel, 19, of Ocean Avenue in Long Branch on June 26 and Mark Kirkland, 19, of Narragansett Avenue in Long Branch on June 27.

Eatontown Police Det. Lawrence Tyler said the Eatontown Police believe they have now arrested "everyone involved" in the robbery.

Det. Tyler said Abel and Kirkland were charged with robbery, aggravated assault and receiving stolen property and were lodged at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution (MCCI) in lieu of bail.

Bail was initially set by Municipal Court Judge George Cieri at $7,500 for each subject. Once lodged at MCCI, the bail was reviewed by Presiding Judge of Municipal Court The Honorable John G. Colannino and was raised to $100,000.00 for each subject.
