Wilson is presently housed at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution and is being held on a total bail of $1,112,500 with no 10 percent cash option.

Wilson’s crime spree began on Tuesday, November 13  at approximately 5:00 a.m. when he shot and robbed a cab driver in the area of Seventh Avenue in Asbury Park. The victim sustained a single gunshot wound to the head and was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where he is presently in critical, but stable condition. Wilson then proceeded to the Shell gas station located at 2109 Asbury Avenue in Ocean Township. There, he approached a gas station attendant and, while brandishing a handgun, robbed him of cash and fled the area around 7 a.m.

Later that morning, Wilson attempted to obtain money from the cab driver’s bank account from several area banks. Suspecting that a theft was taking place, a Neptune bank manager confiscated the identification and debit card from Wilson and contacted the Neptune Police Department, who responded to the bank. However, Wilson had departed the area prior to their arrival.

At approximately 9 p.m., Wilson committed an armed robbery at a taxi stand in Long Branch, again while brandishing a handgun.

During the early morning hours of the next day, Nov. 14, Wilson entered a Quick Check convenience store located on Route 33 in Neptune Township. There, he pointed a handgun at a cashier and demanded money. Wilson fled the scene in a motor vehicle.

At approximately 4 p.m., that same day, Wilson was stopped by the Neptune Police, while operating a motor vehicle. During the stop, Wilson assaulted a Neptune Township Police Officer and fled the scene, eluding the police in the process. Wilson was arrested at approximately 10:00 p.m. later that evening in a house located at 1318 Munroe Avenue in Neptune Township by several police officers.

Detectives from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Asbury Park Police Department, Ocean Township Police Department, Long Branch Police Department, Neptune Township Police Department and United States Marshall’s Office Fugitive Task Force all participated in the investigation and apprehension of Quam Wilson.

Wilson is facing several charges from his crime spree: one count of attempted murder, four counts of first degree armed robbery, four counts of second degree unlawful possession of a weapon, four counts of second degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, two counts of second degree aggravated assault, one count of third degree terroristic threats and one count of second degree eluding.
