An Oceanport man was arrested in Long Branch after police found two shotguns, heroin and drug paraphernalia in his car, according to court documents.

James Sharkey, 25, allegedly possessed two wax of envelopes of suspected heroin, a loaded Benelli 12 gauge shotgun and a Winchester 12-gauge shotgun in his car at the time of his arrest on Dec. 18.

Police say Sharkey also had drug paraphernalia in his car including a metal spoon with burnt residue, 785 wax envelopes "commonly used to package heroin", hypodermic syringes and burnt glass pipe.

Sharkey was sent to Monmouth County Jail where his bail was set at $25,000. He is scheduled to appear in Monmouth County Court on Jan. 7.
