Long Branch Resident Indicted For Beating Victim With Bat

Incident occurred on April 24

A Long Branch resident has been indicted by a Monmouth County Grand Jury for beating a victim with a bat.

Evalberte Dasilva, 21, of Morris Avenue, was indicted on Aug. 16 for allegedly "causing bodily injury" to a victim, identified only as J.S. with a bat, according to court documents.

Dasilva was charged with aggravated assault, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon. The charges are second, third, third and fourth degree crimes, respectively.
