Long Branch Police Searching For Home Invasion Robbery Suspect

Man identified himself as bounty hunter after entering home

The Long Branch Police are searching for a man who walked into a home, identified himself as a bounty hunter and took items from two residents' wallets on Saturday night.

Long Branch Police Capt. Nicholas Bucciero said the man did not force his way into the Atlantic Avenue home, but when the son of homeowner came out of the bathroom, he saw the suspect standing near the front door.

The man told the son and his mother that he was looking for a person he identified as Chris and asked to examine the son's wallet for identification purposes.

While examining the wallets, the suspect took and the mother and son's driver's licenses and credit cards and $50 from the mother's wallet.

The man then left the home and the residents called the police.

The residents described the subject as a 6-foot tall white Hispanic male with a thin build and an olive skin tone, according to Capt. Bucciero. The man was wearing a dark green parka with fur on the hood and dark-colored cargo pants.

Capt. Bucciero said any residents with knowledge of the man's whereabouts should call the Long Branch Police.
