Long Branch Man Failed to Register as Sex Offender, Prosecutor Says

Monmouth County grand jurors indicted a Long Branch man on a charge of failing to register as a convicted sex offender.

The indictment against Tyrone Reid, 34, of Chelsea Avenue in Long Branch was handed up on May 17.

Reid was convicted as a sex offender on Sept. 11, 2009 and is required to re-verify his address with his local law enforcement agency annually. Failing to do so is a fourth degree crime under state law. He allegedly resided in Long Branch from Jan. 21, 2013 to March 29, 2013 without registering with the Long Branch Police Department.
