Long Branch Man Arrested for Armed Robbery, Drug Possession

Man arrested for incidents that occurred Aug. 23 and 25 in Long Branch

A Long Branch man has been arrested for armed robbery and drug possession after robbing a Rockwell Avenue resident at his apartment.

Alvino D. Hinton, 36, of Central Avenue was arrested on Aug. 25 after he attempted to flee from several officers near his home, according to court documents.

Hinton allegedly had crack cocaine and heroin at the time of his arrest, and was charged with possession and possession with intent to distribute.

The court documents also state that Hinton allegedly robbed a man at his Rockwell Avenue apartment on Aug. 23. Hinton allegedly pointed a handgun at the man and demanded him to give him money. The resident eventually handed Hinton $900.

Hinton is scheduled to appear in Monmouth County Superior Court on Sept. 13
