A car flipped on the Parkway in Tinton Falls Sunday night and required rescue workers from the Wayside Fire Co. to use the Jaws of Life to free the trapped female victim.

A motor vehicle accident Sunday night on the Garden State Parkway in Tinton Falls required members of the Wayside Fire Co. to utilize the Jaws of Life spreaders to extricate a trapped and severly injured female occupant, according to Thomas Wieczerzak, captain of the Wayside Fire Co.

The one-vehicle accident occurred at mile post 102.1 around 6:24 p.m., said Wieczerzak in an e-mail, when the car overturned with one female occupant who was "ejected and then became entrapped under the vehicle and entangled in other parts of the vehicle."

Tinton Falls' Wayside company was assisted by Neptune's Hamilton Fire Co. and rescue workers used the Jaws of Life spreaders, rescue air bags and stabilitzation equipment to extricate the victim in about five minutes, according to Wieczerzak.
