Investigators Still Probing Recent Long Branch Homicides

No arrests made in either case

The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office and Long Branch Police are still investigating three homicides which occurred in the last three weeks in the city.

double homicide which occurred last month in the city is still under investigation as is the case where a Point Pleasant man was found dead in city resident's backyard.

The Long Branch Police discovered the bodies of Maria Yolanda Cotejo-Munoz, 35, of 678 Joline Ave. and Feredis Venturo, 33, of 418 Sairs Ave. on March 25 in an apartment at 418 Sairs Ave.

Their deaths are being investigated as a double homicide, but no details have been released on how they were killed, as of 1 p.m. today.

Police found the body of Michael Wells, 56, of Point Pleasant, in a backyard at 215 Cleveland Ave on March 10. He died of a gunshot wound and his death is being investigated as a homicide.

Police have also not made any arrests in either case.
