House Fire Near Monmouth University Extinguished Monday
Wayside Fire Company assisted in controlling a structure fire on Monday in Oakhurst near Monmouth University.
Tinton Falls Wayside Fire Company Number One responded to a two-alarm structure fire in Ocean Township on Monday near Monmouth University, according to Wayside's Capt. Thomas Wieczerzak.
Wayside was called to assist at the fire at 2 Helen Ct. in the Oakhurst section on Monday at 2 p.m. for its Rapid Intervention Team, according to Wieczerzak in an e-mail. Wayside Ladder 36-2-90 was the second arriving fire apparatus and immediately went to work in ventilating the building and assisting the firefighters of Ocean (Oakhurst) suppress the fire.
There were no injuries reported caused by the fire, said Wieczerzak.

Breaking News Network (BNN) reported that the fire had been knocked out by 2:48 p.m. and firefighters were entering the structure.
