Hollywood Avenue Fire Caused By Accidental Explosion

Fire deemed accidental by prosecutor

 

The on Friday night was caused by an accidental explosion according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.

First Assistant Prosecutor Chris Gramiccioni said the cause was "spontaneous combustion of certain materials on site," at 11 Hollywood Ave.

Gramiccioni did not elaborate on what materials caused the explosion, but did say the fire was deemed accidental in nature.

It took firefighters several hours to extinguish the blaze which destroyed a multi-story home that was being renovated at the time of the incident.
