4 Charged With Shooting Police Car With Pellet Guns

Men charged with property damage and unlawfully possessing handguns

Four men have been arrested and charged with shooting pellet guns at a Long Branch police car.

On Aug. 13, Wagneriano Aguiar, 29, of Stratford, Conn., Ibrahim M. Ali, 28, of Eatontown, Weliton Da Silva, 27, of Long Branch and Alexandre De Oliveira, 29, of Long Branch were arrested and charged with possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon and property damage.

The men allegedly used Poweline 008 air pistols to shoot at a Long Branch Police car several times.

The four men are scheduled to appear in Monmouth County Superior Court on Aug. 23. Their bail was set at $7,500 each.
