Former Red Bank Mayor Ed McKenna Charged with DWI in Tinton Falls

McKenna faces the DWI and two related charges

Former Red Bank Mayor Ed McKenna has been charged with driving while intoxicated and related charges following a single-car collision on the Garden State Parkway in Tinton Falls, according to a story on app.com.

McKenna, 63, is now facing driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and unsafe lane change charges by NJ State Police, who patrol the parkway, after his Mercedes, traveling north on the parkway, hit a guardrail and spun, according to police accounts in the app.com story.

The crash occurred at about 9:50 p.m., it added, and was reported to police from the scene.

McKenna is an attorney with McKenna, DuPont, Higgins & Stone, Red Bank, and was mayor of Red Bank for more than a decade, until 2006. He was also Law Director for Tinton Falls. 

He now serves on the RiverCenter board of trustees.
